Note: This article is written for Investment Company Administrators. Wealth Management Company Administrators should use Quick Start for Wealth Management Company Administrators.

  • A single use authentication link will be sent to your inbox from info@4uplatform.com

Step 1: Configure Company Settings

Configure settings associated with Branding, Security and Workflow from the Company Settings view.

The following settings are the most important in relation to setup for 4U Connect:

Company>Company Name: This should be the name you want your Partners to see when reviewing your content submissions

Workflow>Email Document Notification to: This should be the email you would like content status update notifications sent to. Please note this is optional.

For more detailed information on all Company Settings see Company Setting Details.

Step 2: Add Users

Click on your User avatar from the top menu bar and select User Admin. Also, remember, 4U doesn't impose any limitations on the number of users.

  • User first name, last name and email address are the only required fields.

See Adding and Maintaining Users for more detailed information, including step by step instructions.

You can notify Users that they are able to access 4U by choosing the User on the User Admin page and then once in Edit User mode click the Send Verification button on the top right. This will send them a verification link to access 4U. Alternatively they can go to the Log In page and enter their email.

Step 3: Permission Submitter Teams

Set User permissions from the Team Admin section. Each User can be added to one or more Product Teams providing them the following capabilities:

Submitter Teams

  • Add/edit content or new content versions

  • Modify content availability across Partner firms

  • Submit content Approval Requests across Partner firms

For additional details on roles and permissions, see Understanding Teams, Roles and Entitlements.

❗Best Practice! Maintain at least two Company Administrators.

Both the Company Admin Designation and 4U Connect Team Designation are located on the User's Profile in the User Admin Tab under Home Office Entitlements.

Simply toggle on either designation. When you toggle on 4U Connect Team, the Team's menu will surface for you to add the appropriate Teams. Please note, the Team Admin menu remains and functions independently. As always be sure to Save Changes.

Please note: when Company Admin is toggled on the Contact Admin is toggled on and moves to green (light green), meaning Company Admins, by default, are Contact Admins.

Step 4: Designate a Contact Admin

This feature allows just that! In User Admin, toggle on Contacts Admin for any User you want to grant access to. Users who have Contacts Admin access have the permission to export and modify Company Contact records. Learn more about maintaining Contacts here.

Step 5: Designate an SSO Admin

Does your company use SSO to log in? Designate an SSO Admin so they can easily maintain your SSO certificates. Learn more.

Once your Submitters are setup, email them a link to our Quick Start for Submitters.

While not common, browser or network firewall issues may create problems for your Users when they first start using 4U. To avoid such issues we recommend that you have your IT team whitelist 4uplatform.com and check minimum browser requirements ahead of going live.
